My intention for this blog is to provide a welcoming platform for all those who are interested in or curious about tarot. Above all, this blog is about expansion through love and creating a nurturing environment, qualities that we can find in The Empress. The Empress loves all and makes space for all. She is caring; she is nurturing. This blog follows her lead. The purpose is to foster growth.
I would also like to acknowledge that not all growth is the same. Some things develop more slowly, others more quickly. Some things grow in one direction, others in another. Some things prefer shade, others full sun. Nature teaches us that just because things are different does not mean that that they should be shunned or feared. Imagine what it would be like if all trees were the same size and shape, if all flowers were the same color and had the same smell, if everyone shared the same opinion. That kind of world seems like it would be a pretty dull and boring place.
Diversity, like the Five of Wands, serves to make us better. Healthy competition and constructive challenges inspire growth. I recognize that everyone is different and I welcome people of all backgrounds, colors, sexual orientations, and identifications. This space is reserved for people who are equally open and accepting of all fellow humans from all walks of life. Let us not look at differences as a reason to stir discord but as a reason to love by learning more from one another.
Although I may refer to figures in the deck by the pronouns he, she, and, occasionally, it, the usage of these pronouns is not meant to be exclusive. When I label something a “he,” “she,” or “it,” I do so in the name of the archetype. I invite you to be inclusive when reading this blog and not to let pronouns get in your way. Exploring where transcendent masculine, feminine, and androgynous qualities appear within us lets us form a better relationship with these archetypes and with ourselves. And sometimes the ones that we struggle with the most are the ones we need to be spending more time with.
Lastly, my opinions are just that, my opinions. They have been shaped and formed by the experiences in my life and they will be different from your opinions just like your experiences are different from mine. I express my views from a place of love and respect. Through this blog, I hope to broaden my horizons by connecting with more members of the tarot community. My goal is to share what I have learned and inspire others to do the same.
Blessings and gratitude,
Violet
